Pure-ific™
Antibacterial hand and surface spray
The emergence of new diseases, such as SARS, has created
a growing demand for anti-microbial agents for hands
and surfaces. Pure-ific™
Antibacterial hand spray is being introduced
into the retail market in the latter half of 2004 to
meet this demand.
Most antibacterial agents are quick-drying gels. As
a spray, Pure-ific™
is dual purpose, appropriate both for hands and hard
surfaces, such as toilet seats. Pure-ificTM immediately
kills up to 99.9% of bacteria found on skin and prevents
re-growth for six hours. In the laboratory, Pure-ific™
has been shown to kill over 99.9 percent of a feline
Corona virus, the same kind of virus associated with
SARS.
Markets
Hand sanitizers comprise a $100 million market. Antibacterial
sprays, such as Lysol, represent a $1.2 billion market.
GloveAid™ and GloveAid™ MC Moisturing
Conditioner
Disposable gloves have become ubiquitous in many professions.
Along with medical workers and food handlers, airport
security personnel, police and fire personnel, mail
handlers, and others are now donning disposable gloves.
As a result, many are experiencing chronic skin irritation.
GloveAid™ is aimed at this market.
Chronic skin irritation associated with prolonged glove
use is typically treated as an allergy. However, company
scientists have isolated a bacterium that proliferates
inside workers’ gloves, where perspiration creates
a warm, wet environment conducive to bacterial growth.
GloveAid™ is a hand cream that
combines an antiperspirant with an antibacterial agent
to control excessive perspiration. It thus treats the
cause, rather than the symptoms, of the problem.
Market
The worldwide market for disposable gloves is more than
$3 billion. As usage continues to mount, it is anticipated
that corresponding amounts will be spent on hand-care
products.
Key features of GloveAid™
- No or low barriers to regulatory approval
- Proprietary protectio
- Unique combinations of approved agents

Second-stage OTC products
Second-stage products will target acne, eczema, and
mild to moderate psoriasis. The company also plans to
develop specialized hand and foot antiperspirants for
athletic use. Like GloveAid™,
these products are designed to alter the skin environment
to control microbial growth.
Pure-Stick™
Pure-Stick™ is an acne treatment.
Acne results from an overproduction of sebum and other
fluids in the skin, which can plug sweat glands and
ducts, providing an ideal environment for proliferation
of normally benign bacteria.
Pure-Stick™ is a non-toxic,
topical agent that checks the production of sebum and
sweat while damping skin pathogens associated with acne.
Pure-Stick™ can be used both
as a remedy and a preventative for acne.
Market
Acne affects approximately 17 million people in the
United States. Combined sales of OTC products for mild
to moderate cases topped $800 million in the year 2000.
