Provectus' Lead Investigator for Phase 2 Melanoma Study to Address the Inaugural Sydney Cancer Conference 2008

Professor John F. Thompson to Speak at 11:15 am local time on Friday July 25th

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Provectus Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (OTCBB: PVCT, http://www.pvct.com), a development-stage oncology and dermatology biopharmaceutical company, announced today that the Lead Investigator for its Phase 2 melanoma study, Professor John F Thompson, MD, will address the inaugural Sydney Cancer Conference 2008 (SCC2008). Professor Thompson will speak at 11:15 am local time on Friday July 25th at the Eastern Avenue Auditorium and Lecture Theatre Complex at The University of Sydney, in Sydney, Australia.

Professor Richard Christopherson, Chair of the SCC2008 Organizing Committee, said the "one presentation not to be missed will be by Professor John Thompson. Professor Thompson is Director of the Sydney Melanoma Unit at The University of Sydney, and he will outline new melanoma treatments, including the ground-breaking clinical trial he is carrying out [with PV-10]."

Recently, Provectus announced that the first twenty-five percent (20 of 80) of melanoma subjects have been treated in its Phase 2 clinical trial of PV-10. Enrollment is continuing at the first two active centers, located in Brisbane and Sydney, Australia, with additional sites in Australia and the U.S expected to join the study in the coming months.
